It would be brilliant if he had played 90 minutes and this thread could be about McCarthy again

TBH out of all the signings we made it's him I'm intrigued about the most. I didn't want him at the money we paid and I didn't think we needed two Gibson type players, which from the limited times I've seen him, is what he is.

There's a but though as some people are raving about him and I respect their opinions of the game and other seem to think he's a really good player, including our new gaffer, who makes me sing with joy.

I'm hoping I'm very, very wrong.

I think all people should have strong opinions about the match, everton and the players they watch - otherwise whats the point of going? I have confidence in my own beleifs on how to watch a player, see what he does right and wrong and point it out. Ive just changed how and when i do that over the years.

Honestly, after i seemed to argue over Fellaini with everyone for months/years i just decided not to really do it again and that it was pointless arguing with people after hed only been here a short time and was a young player. I got burnt in the past...its now your turn with McCarthy b)

Only seen the lad two or three times. Reminded me of Joe Allen. Does the simple things. Like Tobias Linderoth.

It's a legit view. As you said earlier, you rate people based on if they're any good rather than if they fit into a system, and I largely agree with that, so it's certainly fair to form a positive or negative opinion on him before he plays properly for Everton.

im happy with McCarthy tbh. But i guess time will tell. I was happy with Kone...and although I didnt say too much about his CO cup performance and be too judgemental...i did raise my eyebrows slightly when he dribbled it round the post from a yard out :blink:
