I'm excited to have some midfield options for a change, he's gonna bed in nicely. I just think the expectation with that price tag may sway people's views on him, I'm not sure he's a 13 million pound player, but the market was really inflated over the summer.

I don't think I know more than anyone else, but obviously I'm going to be confident in my opinion, otherwise I'd just be trolling.

TBH out of all the signings we made it's him I'm intrigued about the most. I didn't want him at the money we paid and I didn't think we needed two Gibson type players, which from the limited times I've seen him, is what he is.

There's a but though as some people are raving about him and I respect their opinions of the game and other seem to think he's a really good player, including our new gaffer, who makes me sing with joy.

Of course you can point things out based on 20 minutes, because they actually happened!

For example, he made a one yard pass - but by pointing that out, it doesn't mean I think he's doomed to a career of one yard passes!

If I'd had said "oh look, he bottled that tackle, that's it, he's a bottler, nothing is going to shift my opinion, for the next five years he's a bottler no matter what" then I'd understand your position

Think you have to just ignore the fee tbh. The market makes the price not the players ability, form, achievements etc....Bale's fee only made the market more volatile with chairman feeling they could push fees up because bale went X amount.

On the other hand it's not masive money for a 22 yr old international.

Wigan qualified for Europe with the likes of him.

People should just watch him play for us and stop moaning.

Plus...Martinez has only had one transfer window so far. We will be a very different team once he has had a two or three more.
