Doubt he is going anywhere. Still a solid option in the middle and thought he did well as right back/wing back. Stagnated under Martinez but was a hell of a plaeyer in his first season for us.
 
It is possible that we will bring in a central midfielder yet.
I think the manager may believe that Davies could play the same role in the squad as McCarthy, but if McCarthy is to leave there is definitely somebody coming in.

He hasn't been the same since he had all those hamstrings. Not sure if that's the reason but maybe he simply doesn't want to run as much as he used to.

Seeing Gana play now reminds me of the old McCarthy however I think Gana is a good bit better on the ball. Walsh has already earned his money because I have to say I didn't see anyone playing for Villa last season that I would have wanted.

Cheers mate. I struggle to remember the last time he really influenced a game. That Dunphy or whatever his name is has always slated him for Ireland for being too safe and to be honest I thought at first that he was wrong, honestly thought that after his first season with us he would only keep improving. Unfortunately he has regressed to the point that im not sure he would get a game for a lower positioned prem club other than for dour Davy or Never Dull in Hull. The only positive point i really have about him is that he does have a bit of snide to him and will mouth off a bit at the ref which noone else in our team of angels seems willing to do. Needs to leave for his own sake as much as ours. Hopefully somewhere by the sea in his natural crab environment. Blackpool would be ideal, and the kit would fit his complexion!!

Dunphy watches motd highlights so I'd swerve his opinion on any pl player. Was slating him couple of years back when he was one of our best players at the time.
