Who can tell, just an idea. Otherwise he is on our books and in the squad until he is better not if he will be able to play again. With him not there opens door for a replacement signing.
 
In response to what seems endless reports and emails...

James McCarthy was born in Scotland - this is not in dispute.
James McCarthy was eligible and chose to play for the Republic of Ireland in international football - this too is not in dispute.

The continual reference to these facts over a considerable length of time has been moderated in every way possible, to eventual warnings issued and requests for it to stop and it hasn't... to the point on Saturday and in the wake of his injury against West Brom, where posts were made that upset a number of members and that saw a swathe of reports, disagreement and moderation take place, the nature and strength of which was then questioned and resulted in further warnings and temporary bans being levied.

It's tedious and counter productive.

Therefore, any further posts in this or any other thread relating to his place of birth and for whom he plays international football are highly likely to be seen as a deliberate attempt to wind other people up.

The moderators on GOT want the GOT forums being as light-hearted as possible and we endeavour to be as flexible as possible however, we feel that the continual reference to McCarthy's birthplace is unnecessary and therefore should now considered as "Inappropriate Content" and as such liable for 60-point warning.

Hopefully we'll get an indication this week whether it was a clean break or not. It's just "Everton" that we get a key player back who could be an integral transition between the Sam hoofball tactics and a fast-paced pressure game and something like this goes and happen.

Neither Gueye, Schneiderlin or Davies has the physical presence needed in my opinion. Beni is the closest but he's young and needs nurturing.

At least he's not missing a world cup and is young enough to be able to come back and have another crack at the Euros in 2020.

Memory says Keane came back to a decent standard after his major injury so hopefully James can do the same.

Charlie I really admire your positivity about players. First McClean and now this- McCarthy a comparison to Keane.
Unfortunately though I just have to pass this over to @orly for processing.
I'm sure he will come back to you once due diligence has been completed.

You know it's every individual's right to be offended about whatever they want, don't you?

Away from political jousting, learning this is quite early on in adult life.

@Khalekan can choose to be offended by whatever he/she likes. That doesn't make my comment - wishing McCarthy a full recovery so that he can continue playing and we can sell him - nasty in any way.

There's a difference between being offended by something offensive, and choosing to be offended by anything that does not fully adhere to one's own very narrow thinking. This is a lesson earned later in adult life.
