Confirmed Signing James Rodriguez

Big Yerry's been onto his mate Hameth, and told him how comfy the treatment tables are at Finch Farm.

Joking aside, how can you not be excited for this potential signing - I still think the lad is world class, and the Don knows and trusts him. If it means no Iceland in the team, it's an even bigger yes!

I get the concerns on the risk with his injury record, but for once we have to hope that a players injury issues have happened before Everton has touched them - we've had bloody shocking luck with injuries for years, that cycle has to break soon!

We need a few good older pros who the gaffer wants, knows and trusts - we've got potential already in the squad - signing lads at 28 plus yo ain't the end of the world.

Hameth and Allan could be this generations Andy Gray and Paul Power (please make it so!).

Would instantly be our best creative player.

How good he is depends on who else we bring in, need one or two who will put the legs and graft into the midfield, actually keep hold of a football and give it to him in good positions.

It all depends on keeping the guy fit, if Rodriguez is on a football pitch he guarantees you goals and assists.

However need I remind you that last season we signed a player with no injury history whatsoever and we've seen about 90 minutes of football from him and are unlikely to see him anytime soon...

Worst case scenario I would rather see a half fit James come off the bench with 15 to go trying to rescue a point at The Tin Mine than a half fit Bolasie or fully fit Sandro.
