Given the recent punishments being handed out in relation to breaching FFP you’d be amazed if the owner didn’t just say stuff it and back Carlo up for this season. There will be a few big earners off the books when their contracts expire next year and the potential to sell Richarlison next summer if we don’t kick on.
Agree 100%

I would like to think we are looking at some younger options as well though, as this would leave us pretty threadbare in the midfield department, unless we are planning on using the U23s as direct understudies.
I wouldn't exactly call it threadbare mate. If we managed to sell every one of those listed we would still be left with the following midfielders

Allan
Doucoure
Gomes
Gbamin
Davies
James
Gordon
Iwobi

If we played 433/451 you could add Richarlison to that list too for one of the wide positions. If you look at most top Premier clubs they operate on a working first team squad of around 21/23 players, and this covers them for Europe too.

Ancelotti comes here, Rodrigez is interested. Ron-Ko goes to Barca, Messi hands in transfer request

people are underestimating Ancelotti because we all hate Everton. The reality is that for a lot of these footballers at Milan, PSG and Madrid they probably played their best ever attacking football under this coach. He’s not a rigid disciplinarian like a Pep, Mourinho or Tuchel type. He lets players go out and play. Some players really need that, and if you’re one of those players apart from Zidane there isn’t really any other manager at that level in football who manages that way. Ancelotti is the best there is for this type of fluid attacking football. He’s a huge draw for players who want to play that way.

To be fair there’s a pretty big middle ground between ‘world class’ and what he served up. It’s one thing taking a while to get up to speed, it’s quite another to be pretty much the worst player on the pitch in 90% of the games.

Again. What? Worst play in 90% of games. Ammmm.Tom Davis.

I suppose any player leaving Madrid or the like will have to take a pay cut. Well, it’s up to the club to make it work if there is truth in it. Not holding my breath but would be delighted if we got him.
Think his calibre of player was the reason carlo joined. I don't think moshiri or (usminov) cough cough will not back him, I think moshiri had his fingers burned so is implementing caution, but spend he will I have no doubts.
