Yeah that's the bit for me, he's supposedly on £200k a week at Madrid, you would imagine he would have to take a big hit on wages with us.

I don’t know much about this type of thing. But if as reported the transfer fee is very low or free, this should free up cash for wages and still leave the transfer as ‘good value’. Could it be delivered as an inflated signing on fee with actual salary remaining more modest? I guess my point is a decent accountant (Moshiri) may be able to find a payment structure acceptable all around.

Well firstly Davies was better than him in some games, and secondly if thats the best defence you can come up with, maybe it wasn't such a good point you were making. Semantics aside, Gomes was absolutely appalling after he came back (and for a lot of the time before the injury too) making out like people are out of order/unreasonable for saying it is a bit much I think.

Unless it's Iwobi, where the worst is the norm.

He hasn't been good has he. But I think it's harsh to judge him on one season when basically the whole team under performed.

Hopefully we'll see what he is like in a team playing with confidence this season. Having said that, if we are able to sell him and recoup most of our outlay, then I wouldn't be complaining too loudly.
