Why do people think that him getting a dog means he's happy at Everton or is staying hahahahaha. Mental
I know!!!! It is all wrong.....should be getting a pet pig

Dunno

If you where about to move abroard from the UK would it be something you would do ?
If I had millions of pounds and people to sort this kind of thing out for me then it wouldn't really make a difference. I doubt it means he's here for life does it? I mean even if he does stay he's gone next year anyway. Football forums seem to be full of comments on players/transfer targets like.."I wouldn't do that" therefore they won't.

Who mentioned staying for life ?
Very rare footballers stay at any clubs beyond 3 yrs.

Just a general comment if you where about to move abroard getting a new dog is hardly on the list of priorities.

Because if you join the dots you'll see it makes a triangle. Inside that triangle is a square with a door inside it. Open the door and inside that door is a circle. Step inside that circle and there is a photograph on the mantlepiece. Look closer at the photograph and its an image of James with his dog. Look even closer at the dog and he has a beautiful brand new collar with engraving on. A closer inspection you can see the collar says "Kopites are gobshites, Merseyside is Blue, me and James staying and we love you"

Now if you can't see that means he's staying mate then sorry, I can't help you.

His wages aren’t that high really. I don’t want to lose him, but I guess he is one of our more saleable assets.

There are other far less influential players on bigger salaries. The problem is we can’t shift them.
They are high for someone who isn't playing all the time? Iwobi, Delph, The other 31 year old( He who must not be named), Tosen. Would be better off our pay rather than James. I can just see its a case of who do you let go when you know, the only way they will go is when their contracts are up?

How much commercial revenue would losing James cost us, and how would it impact our South American strategy ?

There is a much bigger strategy around James. It may be cut short but the idea is clear.

TBH I think it is very shortsighted of the Club, and Benitez, not to keep James for the remainder of his contract. Specially if the Club's strategy is to continue growing our brand globally and our fan base too. The amount of exposure and commercial revenue that James can generate is tremendous and the club knows it otherwise they would have not make him the main figure and the main advertising face during their recent visit to the US. It is James who brought many supporters to the stadium last month, it was James the one who brought supporters like myself and @UptheTofees to the Blues and now we have found in Everton a club that we wish to continue following even after our Colombians are not part of the squad, but we would have never become so attached to Everton had it not been because James attracted us to the Club in the very first place. Moreover, James outreach is not just among Colombians and South Americans but he has a great amount of fans in Asia and the US.

Then when it comes to productivity in terms of goals and assist, I don't see anyone that we could sign up for the money we are willing to let him go. I still wonder who does Benitez thinks will help us with such contribution that's not going to cost us big cash. Moreover, posters here complaining that James costs too much for the amount of time he plays should look at around at our neighbors, Liverpool signed Thiago for a higher fee than James and he was injured several times last season and didn't generate the same goal or assist out put as James did but Klopp still values him and considers him to be a big part of his midfield but at Everton James is look down :(
