Anyone who wants James out of our club clearly doesn't understand football. You just have to watch any game he has played for us and he is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of talent.

Will he play every single game? No, he won't. So?

Will he be the most talented and creative player on the pitch when he does play? Yes, more than likely.

He probably doesn't want to be here now the snake has gone, but he still wants to play! He might only play half the games this season (if the manager wanted to play him) but I will still take that over the majority of the dross we have at the club currently...and he's sexy.

Football is a team game for players who act like professionals, not a game for an individual to pick and choose the matches he'd rather play in and get off home when he wants.

He's disruptive and he needs to go. And he will go. Thank goodness.

Add in his departure will likely fund a RB & RW which will finally have the side balanced its a sacrifice worth taking.

look if we sell him and in fact need to sell him to rebuild like that I understand it however firstly you can’t preach player loyalty and then simply bomb someone out to train on their own because it suits , its awful man management. Secondly without current offers I don’t understand why he’s nowhere near the squad as by whatever metric he’s better than others who are in it . Thirdly how much are we getting for him that he’s going to allow this extensive squad rebuilding ?

Not exactly true but I see what you are saying. Footballing and talent wise he's miles ahead of any single player in our squad.

But we all remember those games against lowly opposition where he failed to tackle, track back, string a successful pass and when the game turned against us he went missing. ('or - Injured')

I love the guy, and wish we'd play him in a no10 role so he can get away with all his defensive responsibilities. I can see why Townsend has been brought in, in a sense to do all the ugly work that other big star's struggle to do.

If ManUtd refuse to meet the ridiculous valuation for Trippier, then we will definitely not.
If it is reduced he will got to Man Utd, both sides want to make that happen.

How do we know James hasn't been a tit during discussions with Benitez over his future?

People making assumptions and jumping all over the manager same as many did as I mentioned yesterday over Moyes/Drenthe/VDM before months/years later the dirty linen came out the laundry basket.

Until we know the facts of the situation you have to assume the player and manager dont see eye to eye therefore its the managers call to have said player training alone which in the animal kingdom is a show of dominance and makes the rest of the pack fall in line.
