I'm of the view that I can't complain of an attitude problem about a lack of commitment across the club and that being our biggest problem and give anyone a free pass.

But people are basing these claims on solid news coming from decent journos. The Athletic and the Echo saying we want McNeil and Longstaff, Romano saying we want Winks, those3 names aren't exactly exciting are they? Also no decent links to any sort of right back. So going off the news we've got we are selling Kean and James and signing McNeil and one of Winks or Longstaff. Possibly Rondon on a free as well. Its utterly grim

Got to take the media with a pinch of salt - the media all had Moyes as imminent before we announced Ancelotti.
I do think there is something in the McNeil talk but the others are largely hearsay.
But even if say Harry Winks joined being honest is he better than Gomes/Delph/Davies - 100% yes... he was in and around the Spurs team under Poch that was in the top 4 every season and made it to a CL final.
Just because he isn't a big name and has lost form over the past 12-18 months doesn't mean he couldn't come in and develop into a useful cog for the team. My RS mate used to hammer Jordan Henderson in his early days now loves the lad because he's developed and become a key part of their none spectacular midfield.

I know all about decent players and welcome them at the club, but this one is adding next to nothing on the field of play and is disrupting the team's preparations for the start of the season.

Such an English 'Do it Easy' attitude, that. We wouldn't know flair if it camped out in the driveway on hunger strike. And don't give me yada yada yada modern game, no passengers, high press and intensity. You get that from a strong spine, not from your playmaker. If we got a couple of midfielders and centre backs who could tackle, hold and distribute the ball under pressure, and told Dom to try and win the ball back instead of jogging around it then Jameth's defections off the ball wouldn't be half as much of an issue as they are in a team that spends most of the 90 in a low block.
Dont pretend that it's all about those wanting good football and those who are happy with a long ball. I can tell you i definitely dont fall into the latter category. I just dont support any player taking the piss as he's done last season and looks like he'd take into this season.

Did you see Harry Winks against us in the 5-4 cup game? He was by a country mile the worst player on the pitch including our utterly useless CMs. We may as well keep Davies than sign him. For the £20m+ he would likely cost I'd rather we gambled on a player from the continent like Nunes.

Once again, he's a wonderfully talented footballer, but once teams figured us out last season (Stop James) we really struggled.

Ancelotti kept saying he was fit a few times/we was expecting him to play a few times in the handful of games in our vital run in but then he'd never be in the team. Ancelotti later relented and admitted he can't play because he's tired and also that he had Copa America on his mind.
Then Rodriguez declared himself fit before bailing, thumbs up smiling on a game that could have given us Europe. His international setup then said he basically hadn't kept himself fit enough which of course Rodriguez refuted/claiming he was fully fit;
Rodriguez has recently said that he is healthy to play "I want to make it very clear that I was fit to play. This is a managerial decision, and I accept it, but I don't agree with it because they disrespected me.
Managers don't drive out players of his ability unless there's a reason.
A lot of managers seem to have an issue with James Rodriguez.
I suspect that reason is aligned with 99.9% of the moans on this forum and previous manager/captains comments around the teams character/attitude/commitment.
It's a fair point, but the thing is our team ISN'T devoid of quality, they are just not drilled.
If as you say they don't put in the required effort the place will be taken by eager youth or further, hungry re-enforcements in Jan.
The effort was lacking last season because it's well known players can take the piss out of Ancelotti on that front.
