Judging by many of the comments in this thread, it turns out that one player IS bigger and more important than Everton Football Club

Im not that arsed tbh (more so I just have apathy in general for the club at present) but taking emotion out of it the club wont succeed if certain players are given preferential treatment / are not committed to the cause.

Imagine Cahill or Arteta or Carsley doing the same or Moist allowing any of our players to bugger off early?

Said it before but for me as good as Carlo is as a manager he isn't the tough regimented appointment we needed imo to take the club forward.

Hes taken part in 23 league games with just under 20 games worth of minutes.

6 goals + 4 assists.

If we play 433 and hes one of 5 players competing for those front 3 positions i think its a good thing.

I've been saying this for a long time. When he plays, he operates like a good old-fashioned No. 10, and our entire game is centered around him. Sometimes it works, but all too often it is too easy for the opponent to take JR out of the match. In practice, the opponent then takes out the entire team.

True but great players who are taken out of the game occupy 1 - 2 opposition players, and it gives the opportunity for 1 - 2 good players on our team to take advantage of space and time to create & score. That of course doesnt happen for us. That's why Richy and one other midfielder need to have some creative instincts, and both our full backs. We need 4 creative oulets - Richy, one midfielder, RB, LB and of course back up to James

Well I'm sure he would have done the same at some point playing for successful teams like Madrid and Bayern. So he probably sees it as nothing major when he swans off and leaves a club who have won sod all for 26 years early to get himself ready for Colombia.

I certainly think this kind of thing will come back and bite Ancelotti on the arse. You can't slate the team for lack of attitude and professionalism then let one of them get an early plane out to prepare for an International tournament. Even if you did, you'd at least ask them to keep it discreet.

The players wont care, as they know he makes them better.

Alex Ferguson famously gave certain players more latitude than others at United; was seldom a problem.

If he's also genuinely injured and can't train for the match, what is the point in him being there? To turn up and go well done mate and then go home?

He could have done that already in private - perhaps by phone. People are making a mountain out of a mole hill because they want to rant about something.

It's not ideal by any stretch of the imagination, but life isn't ideal and nor has this season.

They will care, and they will expect the same treatment at some point. It sets a very dangerous precedent.

according to the Inspector Gadgets of GOT he's not injured, He picks and chooses when he plays and the calf injury doesn't exist and never has done.
