I support Everton. I do wonder why are so desperate to hate our own players all the time.

Granted many of them are pretty terrible but that's usually not their fault is it? Wouldn't it be easier if the club just signed better players?

This is my concern. A 'Big Time Charlie' in the dressing room is toxic.

Players can understand some being paid more than others of course, but they can't understand preferential treatment, or being paid triple what you are for a third of the effort.

Barca are getting rid of loads of them.
Chelsea used stock pile them (long list of players who just went for a paycheck).
PSG have your Draxler's and Kurzawa's. Happy to bank rather than play.

The argument is more...can we afford the luxury rather than the talent taking the mick.

I'd like someone to come out and say they have an issue with James going home to see his lady and his daughter for the first time in months, rather than him sitting in the stands of the Etihad doing nothing. That would tell me more about the mad person than James.

Fact is, it's extremely poor that he didn't even bother turning up for the first time fans were allowed in the stadium. Even if he really WAS injured, how much would it hurt to simply walk the fn lap of Goodison?

I've never gotten a name on any shirt, I got the amber one for my birthday a month ago. Guy is magic but that's a complete joke of an attitude towards people that absolutely want to see him play. I absolutely cannot how we, as a club, would allow a player to pick and choose when he plays because that's exactly what we are doing.

I agree that James should have been a Goodison last weekend and show some gratitude to the fans, specially after so everything people have been going through this year and half because of Covid. I think that’s the least he could’ve done even if he couldn’t played the last couple of games, he should be there for his teammates today too. I’m really bothered by his prima donna and am above the club attitude and if I were Don Carlo I would have not given him permission to leave early.

Nah sorry, missing games through 'fatigue' and that plane photo shows a staggering lack of self-awareness.

The fans have every right to be annoyed with him, as do his colleagues. If he were genuinely injured, fine, but what he's done in recent weeks is rub his star status in everyones face and act bigger than the club.

Nobody is bigger than the club.

I love James as a player, but I had my suspicions over the Christmas period that he wasn't really injured, and this just confirms it for me. I get the concept of a luxury player, but this now feels like too much of a sacrifice for what he offers.

Let me put it this way - if this were Gylfi Sigurdsson, missing games due to fatigue then posting photos of him jetting off to Iceland ahead of an important league game, he'd be getting pelters from absolutely everyone. Just because it's James Rodriguez instead doesn't mean we should apply different standards.

Swing and a miss. Guy's a walking injury and has played more minutes this season than he has in a long while.
