I support Everton. I do wonder why are so desperate to hate our own players all the time.

Granted many of them are pretty terrible but that's usually not their fault is it? Wouldn't it be easier if the club just signed better players?
Yes, it is their fault!

I'd like someone to come out and say they have an issue with James going home to see his lady and his daughter for the first time in months, rather than him sitting in the stands of the Etihad doing nothing. That would tell me more about the mad person than James.
I don't give a damn about him seeing his family

This is my concern. A 'Big Time Charlie' in the dressing room is toxic.

Players can understand some being paid more than others of course, but they can't understand preferential treatment, or being paid triple what you are for a third of the effort.

Id don't think we've a dressing room like that and will more than likely look up to James regardless.

Apart from Delph none of them have won anything and anyone from bigger clubs (ala Barca) are getting paid loads anyway.

Wobes going to Carlo upset that he's not being given the respect James is for example...

I see. So how about the two weeks 'rest' he had ahead of the Sheff Utd game, followed by 78 minutes, resulting in 'fatigue' so he can't play the next two games.

That rest period wasn't enough for him.

So I wonder... will he start every game at the Copa America and not need 'rest'? I bet he will. Magic that eh?
It's really enraging that James might play 450 minutes for his home country in a tournament that happens once every 4 years compared to the 2000 he played for Everton.

I'm incensed, I tell you.

We have the opportunity to qualify for Europe, and everything that can be done to increase our chances of achieving this should be done. Especially our supposed best player.

When he could not play, he should have been at goodison. JR is quite privileged, and has after all managed quite well through the pandemic. While flying private jets and bathing in Russian caviar, there are quite a few who have lost their jobs, their homes, and who have not been able to visit their loved ones for a long time. For many of these, Everton FC means quite a lot to them, and is an escape from their everyday lives. The kid who has received an Everton kit with JR printed on, and where maybe the father / mother has lost their job during this year, and where they no longer have the finances to keep their home. JR lives in a fantasy world, and it had not required much effort / sacrifice to be present at goodison to greet the fans.

The third aspect is his commitments to the team, which has been mentioned by several before.

Off the back of a 'serious' injury that has made him miss 6 of the last 7 games, yes. He should be a serious injury doubt. He isn't. He's jetting away knowing he's playing as he's not injured.

It's fanboyism to defend him, pure and simple. He's put country before club. Bin.

I've seen some mental gymnastics to be mad about something and this is up there.

Embarrassing how our fans claim we’re this club of the people and not like all those other corporate scab clubs, and then go out of their way to make excuses for this guy who is the epitome of the modern footballer completely out of touch with reality and essentially lives on a different planet to any of us. Remember Iwobi getting absolutely destroyed on here by the same people for posting an Instagram video on a boat during an international break.

I'd venture a guess that many of the same people being ignorantly angry about Iwobi are the same ones mad now.
