One moment of magic is all you need though.
We can support a player like him if we use him properly instead of chucking him out wide and expecting him to track back and "put a shift in".
Obviously we would need a lot more around him to shine. Typically we would get rid of him, build a good side and then be crying out for a player like him to be the cherry on the cake.
It's not even his positioning or his work rate - Benitez will demand that.
It's not about what he does defensively, it's about not being so reliant on him to build any attack and ultimately, when he played under Carlo, that's what it was, and there was evidently a severe lack of coaching otherwise.
