No that’s a fair question mate, and to be fair I hadn’t thought to deeply about it. West Ham you could argue were way above us anyway, finished 6th and unlucky to do so really. They’ve obviously done better this window than us. Of those who were genuinely around us I would say Arsenal Leeds and Villa have done better than us. Arsenal have actually had a tough start with them playing a newly promoted team 1st game and the prem champs and champs league winners first 3 games. We will se how they’ve done by Xmas. We’ve Had a better window than Newcastle for sure though. Wolves I’m not sure who they’ve signed and how good they are, im looking at the names now but that isn’t helping ?
So mixed bag, spurs were above us too and still are in my opinion based on them keeping Kane alone, but also some good signings. At the end of the day we will see mate. All opinions I hope we over perform and Rafael is successful I honestly do

you can look at it a different way, he isn't falsely building up hopes or pretending that we are the most special club in the world, its a professional relationship.

Perhaps... but we absolutely should not be trying to build a team around him as that backfired spectacularly last season. Luckily Benitez wouldn't do that anyway.

It wont happen but the manager is experienced enough to know that the approach for the first few games wont work for every game and we will need to adapt. If we were ever gonna build a team around him he would have been involved already
