Noones saying that it's the bog standard. But when your argument is unbeaten and 7 from 9 without him and its all because of the manager, then that goes the other way that last season, we used him and had a different manager and were doing better. So on that basis alone, on paper it would look like this manager is doing worse and his refusal to bring him in is impacting that.
And then when that's put to you, there are then new reasons, such as shifting any blame on to another player that posters don't like etc (in this case, keane)

Multiple reasons/factors for this and that. Judging only what we can judge on Benitez alone. Its a decent start. Could go tits up. I am leaning towards it not falling off a cliff after 4 games like it did last year. Who knows. Something tells me things will be more balanced than what happened. But who knows. Good start. So whose fault is that? Last season Ancelloti had Keane playing exceptionally well at the end of the previous season and moving in to the next season. Now, with Benitez, his forms all over the place.

Fair enough. I hope it doesn't go tits up and we keep winning. But I also don't think ostracising a quality player is going to benefit us. He is here, bring him in to the fold.
And maybe people need to stop trying to prove themselves right based off 3 games.(and that goes for both sides).

Why can’t we just enjoy a good start to the season, get behind the manager. Get behind the players on the pitch and see where it takes us. This tit for tat between a quality player on his day and a proven manager is like pulling teeth. I’m certainly a lot more optimistic of our season than I was a month ago. I don’t think James is going to ruin the team spirit. You can see by the performances on the pitch that the lads are working and enjoying their football and we are going to have to rely on some squad members but winning and confidence is infectious. I can’t wait for the Burnley game. I personally hate the international break.

Its beyond doubt that having James on our playing staff raises the profile of the club, by association. @Sassy Colombian became a fan, bought a James shirt, (officially) and dragged her husband to the Florida cup games. Actual evidence. The traffic on here from Columbia rose significantly. Actual evidence.
Now, how/if the club actually cash in on that is a moot point, but the association is there.

Any new player of note will have an impact. The point with James is that it's claimed that he'll have a disproportionate impact due to his legion of social media followers.
I'm asking that the claim be substantiated by more than anecdotes.
Is there any substantial figures to back this up? I asked about tangible stuff like shirt sales. Not unreasonable I dont think. So far: zip.
