Mate why are you so desperate that he stays?
He has quality, of course, but you have to admit that there were quite considerable drawbacks to his overall contribution last season? particularly after Christmas.

He scored three brilliant goals in that run even though he was injured a lot. Goals which should have resulted in wins if not for individual errors from other players in two of those games too.
Now, he wasn't fit enough, but we knew he couldn't stay fit yet Ancelotti came up with no other way of playing. That isn't on James, is it?
If he stays, it would be fantastic because we'd have a world class player and not many sides have that. But if he goes, it may allow us to get other players in. That latter point, however, sums up how crap the club have been run that that's the case. The players we need in are players we've needed in for 2-3 years.

Cuz we didn't even give him a chance this season. Benitez clearly stated he does not rate him and want him at Finch Farm. That ruined everything, his motivation, his preparations etc. Completely ridiculous. The Board should have instructed FSW that James is staying UNLESS he wants out. (he now does, but comes after his Benitez feud)
