What’s your point? Of the ones still here two are actually regulars and one of those two is first on the replacement list. Gueye and Picks are the only ones even remotely good enough to have considered “building a team around.” The others have either moved on to lower levels, are bit part players, or are hanging around because no one cares enough to bid for them. As for your boy Dowell, he’s found a good level for him and he’s decent, but your Dowel Euro 2020 prediction didn’t exactly come true. People need to just admit when they get something wrong. It’s ok.

He won't come off twitch mate, That's the issue really for me.
We don't know if Benitez has said to James that your not in the plans, We have only heard from one side of this. James must know that Benitez was not wanted here by the fans, It was also said that James was wanting out when Ancelotti left. Its not crazy to think we're being played here. James wants away and yet the fans are still on his side. Benitez is the only looser here in a PR sense regardless of outcome.
He is a worldy of a player, No doubt about that. He's obvs a bit of a Belgium too though, Remember Lukaku when he wanted out ?? Press release after press release. It destabilises the team.

Yeah your right, It's the social media aspect I was really referring to. Insta, Facebook, twitter et al. I'm not on any of em and frankly I'm too old to care about followers or influencing anything. James isn't though, He knows he's followed by a gazillion of people, so only a mere hint of 'I'm not wanted' will gain traction instantly, knowing Benitez and the club will get the pressure heaped on. Its not good for the club and as I'm a fan of the club, not James, I want him aaht. It won't end well.

I don’t think he needs to hint on Twitch he’s not wanted to know he’s not wanted. We’ve known since Benitez first came in he’s not wanted.

I find it hard to take that people on this forum - fellow Evertonians - are embarrassing themselves by going to bat for this utter waster.

He'll be gone form Everton in a matter oif a fortnight. Good riddance. Then hopefully many of you will come to your senses and crack on. He's not worth a second thought IMO.

I have to agree with you, Dave. As soon as Ancelotti went it was pretty obvious James would more or less down tools until he went too. He doesn't get on with his new manager and he'll be a divisive presence.

I'd have no issue with James going next year. He'd have given us 2 years, he'd be 31, out of contract, it wouldn't look like the move has failed (which really it hasn't based on what he contributed when fit, but it'll look that way and be spun that way), and this season he could make the difference if Benitez can have the team set out in a way and a system which wouldn't be just reliant on one or two players - including a half-fit James - to create.

Now, there's the other side of the coin that is that James probably is more than happy to leave, but I don't think if any offer didn't come in that he'd not play. He'd just see out the year of his deal and then move on somewhere else. He's a top level pro, that's kind of what they do.

Doesn't mean we have to build a team around him, doesn't mean we have to buck to his every will and whim. It just means we have genuine quality there which could make a difference.

On the list of players there, I'd say any reasonable club would be able to recoup decent money on all of them but tosun (who is injured) - or at least, 'decent' compared to what they offer to our squad right now.

Davies should stay for me but the rest I'd sell in a heartbeat, though Holgate going would mean we'd need a CB and I still think the lad has a lot of talent.

But where have you seen this, I havnt heard Benitez actually say it, have you ?
He could have easily said I want more from you, you won't be getting off for half the season, we need players to play, James has then taken that to say he's not wanted... No one knows really.

If he wasn't on Twitch would you be sat here right now thinking Rodriguez is wanted and a key part of Benitez's plans?
