One day the club will be in a place where some fans don't desperately sacrifice the clubs self worth in order to appease a player they think is too good for us.

Well the club gave him permission to leave and he went to see his daughter before in theory joining up with the national team but of course he didn't get selected, because he wasn't fit.

But if he hadn't had put that photo on - which he shouldn't - it surely wouldn't have been an issue. What could he have done? Sat at home in Formby watching us get absolutely battered? He couldn't play, he was injured.

I agree on the Wolves game but again that's a decision which was also taken by the club. If they'd said no, you've got to come to Goodison, I'm sure he would have done...

If I was an Atletico fan - I'd be careful what I'd wish for. I don't have any ill will against the guy - but I'd hold out praise for him until he performs and shows some commitment which I didn't because he played great to begin with. Look at guys like Niasse and Bolasie who were treated horribly by the club and they have more reason to be upset than this guy who was treated like a celebrity.
