Benitez and the Everton PR team have all got you singing from their hymn sheet.

You're surprised he isn't arsed about us? Why? Benitez told him to get lost in a press conference about 3 weeks ago. That wouldnt motivate you would it?

Benitez either does a good James accent or hes a master hacker if hes managed to take over his Twitch stream and put words into his mouth.

we shouldn't have a problem. It should never be a problem using someone of James' quality.

We really, really are not blessed with it and probably won't be for a very long time. So if he stays, we use him, simple.
This is not like playing FIFA. There are many factors a manager must consider. Is the player motivated? Reliable? Dedicated? Does the player contribute positively socially and in training? Does he fit into the system? Budget? Etc. Ultimately, it is always more important for a manager and a club that the team performs to its maximum, than to arrange for a single player to shine. Despite the fact that JR had single matches last year where he was good, we had a far better statistic without him on the field.

He’s wanted to leave since about November. He would’ve left even if Ancelotti stayed. He utterly hates the Premier League and cannot wait to be freed from it.

i hope it would be that simple...

or it could go the other way around so brace ourselves for tons of drama this season... that would be the ugliest part not good for everyone
best for James to go.. no matter what....

if the plan B relies on doucure.... dear god... despite his last game , he is still god awful with the ball, 1 good game wont change this, doucure is pretty mediocre and offers zero inside game.

ive said in other posts, 2021 everton is about crossing it to DCL/richy (who is a pretty good header) , non header shots will come from rebounds or fast breaks, dont ever xpec a 1-2 combination on the inside or a forward pass try defenses to leave 1 v1 the strikers it just wont happen. once the opposition figures out everton unidemensional cross fest it will be hard to score agaist em.

….we won the title twice in the ‘80s with two CMs who rarely crossed the half way line. There’s more than one way of skinning a cat, goals and creativity from out wide was a successful model then.

It’s not a pre-requisite to have creativity in CM, breaking down the opposition & keeping possession is crucial.

When we get beaten ( by whoever we're playing ) on Saturday the knives will be back out for Benitez.

The eye of Mordor will swing back away from James.

It’s swings and roundabouts though mate, after a good second half against Southampton Benitez was getting praised to the hilt, so if Leeds did turn us over and we put in a crap performance then surely those who praised him to the hilt shouldn’t have a problem with any grief that came his way.

I know this isn't like playing FIFA.

He gets along with the squad. There should be a system which gets the best out of our best players - so happens that the one that gets the best out of James would also get the best out of our other attackers and our midfielders. But we need a right-back - which we've needed for three years - to have it work consistently. James could be taken in and out like any other player.
