I don't assume it's true but if we sign this guy then McCarthy is gone. We're not going to have Gibson, Barry, Besic, McCarthy and Kavlak all in the same team so one of them is going. The only one likely would be McCarthy given the rumours.

More likely for Gibson to go and Barry to either be used less or moved to centre back.

So you don't. The fact is that we didn't actually overspend this year.

When we bought Yakubu he was about 20% of our revenue, Lukaku was about the same. We then went on to buy Fellaini who was even more expensive.

There's more money in English football than in previous years so our transfer budget will go up appropriately.

Oh my giddy Aunt. Do you think our income is spent solely on players?

Furthermore Barry and Gibson are therefore not up to scratch in any way this season.
Leaves us pretty light before Hames manoeuvres this speculated move to Spurs or whoever meets his own self value

seeing as besic has managed to keep messi and bale very quiet this year for his national team, i reckon he could be a brilliant long term solution, as well as mccarthy. both don't offer a great deal going forward anyway and i would rather someone like ross next to them who will offer more in that sense. or play them all in a 3 of course.

the thing is, barry is more dependable regarding fitness compared to gibson, but gibson has a lot more years left as well as barry's form being utter cack this season. can't really choose between the two over who you'd rather have ha.

Jesus Jack at this stage I think I'd rather have neither of them as they do cost a few bob like

yeah, that's the point i was getting at, gibson should be kept and only paid when he actually gets on the pitch ffs - the lad has done pretty much nothing throughout his career to earn so much money. probably wouldn't be wise to offload players left right and centre, but they have contracts and nobody will buy them i'd suspect.

Correct, part of the problem with long contracts. Giving Barry 3 yrs was madness if true!

I keep peeking in here to see if we have signed anyone but no not yet!

My fear is RM maybe looking for a GK, now although we would like a top class or shall we say decent keeper, this will not happen. RM will keeping on using Robles and find some cheap hack to sit on the bench just in case.

From interviews i think he know Robles isnt good enough. He doesn't defend him when he's asked about getting another keeper.

i commented at the time about how stupid it was. too early to say he's finished, i think he needs a proper rest, should be one of the last names on the squad sheet atm, not the first

At the moment, he'd be a good player to bring on to trying and keep things tight. If we can ever do that again
