Sell Barkley and sign Cardiff's keeper, Lille's half-decent cb with no prem experience, a talented but notoriously temperamental winger and a 28 year old (both with no prem exp.0 I know their examples, but no, never, ever. Barks is gonna be one of the best midfielders in Europe in the next 5 years if he reaches his potential. He was superb last night and has finally started to hit form after that injury.
is there actually a chance we could get gerard back in jan or is he on loan for full season at sevilla? anyone know how he's getting on?

imo we desperately need another pacy winger. mcgeady isn't cutting it, atsu looks hopeless, now injured, and i've heard chelsea arent hapy with how little game time he's getting anyway
although Oviedo is an option we could use wide, as is McAleny. I think he tried to hard to impress against Krasnador, he clearly has some talent, and martinez wouldnt have given him a 3 year deal if he thought otherwise
long term we need a new keeper, cb to partner stones, and a proper 10 if barkley is to play deeper. someone who can actually make use of lukaku by slipping through balls in behind the defence (a similar player to an eriksen, mata, oscar etc)
dont know if january is right time to address those positions

we are paying 5 a year plus 3 for the loan fee.
Plus we probably only are paying so much because chelsea kept pushing the price until one club was left.
Thats my point tho, there HAS to be money leftover. If they are saving this all for a new stadium, fair enough. But they havent spent close to the increase in TV money.

As you acknowledged it was only a suggestion based on what people have said here previous, i hope barkley is the real deal but given were we are now to how we were say 2002, we sold lescott, arteta, rooney and rodwell for decent sums (some argue arteta fee wasnt enough) but we used the money wisely, i think we bought arteta, cahill, jags, baines and such on the back of these sales to begin with.
Hopefully the money is there from TV deals etc and we dont have to buy to sell any longer.
