No matter how much we got with their sales, you never improve as a team by selling your best players (as the RS will find out with coutinho going and the likelihood of salah in the summer). For us to lose Stones, Lukaku and Barkley in the space of 18 months is a real kick in the teeth. Not only were they class players for us, they were all young players with their best years ahead of them. I am old enough to remember the great side of the 80s, but the gap that exists to the current top 4 and us, makes you wonder if we will ever be competitive again.

We will never bridge that gap, CL is key, we can't offer it nor can we attract the players to get us it. The only hope is our youth players do a Utd.
