You’ve gone from one extreme to the other there , how about a bit of balance with a couple of more experienced defenders in their late 20s to add to the young lads

We won the league in 85 with the following ages, Ratters 24, Stevens 23, Psycho 24 and Mountfield 22, Big Nev was 26.

Start of next season, Keane 25, Holgate 21, Coleman 29, Tierney 21/Shaw 23, Pickford's 24

With Shaw the combined age would be 4 years older and with Tierney 2 than the back 5 in 85.

Even swapping Coleman for Kenny would still see the back five within a tears age in average of the 85 side

If you get a gang of lads playing as a unit, all round the same age often it'll develop the leadership qualities of one or two of them as they aren't relying on the experienced old head all the time, so become more self reliant.

Take it’s clear the squad out and then buy so who’s left then? Realistically I can see these 3 leaving permanently.

Niasse.

Besic.

Lennon.

Why would a team that looks badly in trouble sell their best defender anyway??

You can argue their problem is scoring goals not defending, so assuming they can get some guys to put the ball in the net occasionally, you might convince yourself you can still defend through organization and tactics rather than the ability of one player.

He is very experienced playing on the left hand side mate, yes he is right footed but he is LCB more often than not and ive seen him cut inside and out down the left so he must have some left foot ability

Lol ok , don’t really get this?

Have you watched that kid play? He has alot of similarities in the way he brings the ball out forwards... are you suggesting nobody will be able to reach the levels of Bale again?

Yeh I have actually, watch a lot of Lille, I like the project. He's a good player but he's absolutely nothing like what Bale was like as a full-back. Like not even remotely similar.

Them days have gone mate.
I don't think any of us know that for sure. I don't think any of us have any idea about where the club is going because of a lack of clear information.
I believe that in 2018 things will become clearer for us all. I think that if the new stadium is going to happen at all we do need to see progress relating to design, funding and planning .

I think the ownership of the club is still uncertain. We know that Moshiri owns 49%, we know there is an agreement for the other shareholders to sell once certain targets have been met but we have no idea who will take ownership of the remaing 51%. Historically it would appear that Moshiri is not a go alone individual but tends to get involved with other partners. The question remains if that will happen at Everton.

everybody is entitled to their opinion, but some on here are skewed on a perpetually negative course(this is not aimed at you) and I tend to discount their opinions because I feel they are not objective.

They may be right, but using situations that happened years ago to predict what will happen now is irrelevant as the arrival of Moshiri has changed the club totally...only tme will tell for betteror worse.
