Listen it's not for me to judge but I think there is a significant case here for @devogue to be labelled an utter bozo for pretending to be ITK and must, unilaterally, be CRUSHED

Do not resist
Alternatively lets get him writing articles for the echo and give him his own podcast :D

ACTIVATE:CRUSH

As befitting smart, handsome and above all frandly individuals of Grandoldteam.com, you all make excellent points.

But we must of course defer judgement to the Midnight Court and Supreme Judge @the sniderman

See you in six hours

my body is ready and waiting friends. midnight court called. justice will be CRUSHED.

Err....

So, a left back then?

I tend to agree that Walsh is good at player trading
He done an excellent job at Leicester and I think no one knows the full facts as to his relationship with Koeman and who recommended who.
Also the fact that Kenwright was involved in transfers would have hindered Walsh.
Kenwright admitted iat the AGM that Walsh negotiated Tosun and I think he done the Walcott deal.
Moshiri must have seen it wasn’t working and changed things.
I can see one possibly two first team players coming in and 2/3 lads for the youth set up.
For all their failings Walsh /FSA are no footballing fools

Wiltshire garbage mate, one of the worse players I’ve ever seen. Not only is he seriously injury prone, he’s also weak on the ball. Falls over a lot. Didn’t do much at Bournemouth last season. Big no no for me
Ha ha. He’ll start for England in the forthcoming World Cup. He can hold and pass a ball forwards..we’ve forgotten what that’s like.

People have a very narrow view of what he does in my opinion. Net spend is one measure and with the investment made he has mitigated and almost halved it in player trading, it’s a crude instrument though. What is not factored in is loan fees, wages saved and the cottage industry he has going the accumulation of both is for me a big enabling factor. Take last January, McGeady, Cleverley, Delefou, Niasse all put to work for loan fees and saved wages and all bar Niasse (yet) bringing in funds in permanent deals, due to raised profile.

I think a lot see him as ‘head scout’ and nothing more.

It’ll take time and hopefully FSA is on board with the whole DOF model.
Basically the club owners should have an idea of how we want to play and what buisness model we are going to operate under.
The DOF is given this mandate and tries to set the club up at all age groups to play this way.
Buying young players 16/17/18 who he feels can play in the desired system and having all coaches singing off the same hymn sheet.
The DOF also has an input into the choice of manager as its essential we get a manager who continues to try and play in the way the club dictate
Minor tweaks will be allowed but the basic philosophy must be the same from top to bottom.
The manager then tells the DOF what players he needs and qualities they must have and the DOF goes out and gets them if possible.
The FOF must also ensure that their is a spread of ages in the first team squad so some continuity can be expected.
Hopefully younger players who don’t make the grade can be sold at a profit.
Re sale value should never be an issue as we should look to keep our best players.
Do Spurs look at Kane and say there is a 150m mark up pure profit or do they say there’s a striker we can build a title challenging side around.

I agree most fans think have a very narrow concept of what he does, whats fascinating is how he is maximizing Everton assets and as such potential revenue the above examples are a case in point.

But if you take someone like Dowell more then likely he was deemed surplus to requirements in the summer. Walsh sees an asset and finds the right pathway to protect Everton. Sends him on loan to a mid table championship team, gets a loan fee, loses a wage, the lad does well, becomes a top Championship player, the calf is fattened, we decide to sell at what 9-10 mill + or he is deemed now to have a future at the club. There are other examples.

It’s making your assets work for you, creating revenue streams and fattening calves potentially for profit. I think personally we are only seeing a snippet of this, we will see it more in the long term, the increase we have seen in youth player recruitment is all about this.
