Him, Sandro and Mirallas will be hardest to shift due to wages they are on.

Sandro will be next to impossible to shift, Mirallas got that insane contract extension and as for Bolo.... we’ve just got to pray they move for the better of their careers and that the hit we take on the inevitable wage excess is kept to a minimum.

I'm liking brands thinking. In January you only usually have two options really, massively overpay, or take a punt (maybe a loan).

Be very interesting to see the statistics he alludes to i.e the cost effectiveness of January signings.

Reality is any players that could improve us right NOW is either unavailable or we'd have to spunk way over the odds on them.

Or we could take a punt on a loan on some lid who might not even be as good as the likes of DCL, Lookman, Davies.

Reality is there is probably no player we could get in that would guarantee we finish higher than were we are now 7th/8th this season.

At least one person at the club has their head screwed on.

Yeah, when you really think about it, that all makes a lot of sense.

If you are buying players for the long term strength of the club, and not for a short term stop-gap, the summer window is the only way to go. Why? Because if you want a top CF, then A. If you buy one in January, you have already spent your money and cant buy one in the summer in most cases, and B. The one you get in January is worse than what you can get in the summer, because it HAS to be a player that a team in MIDseason is actually willing to part with. That must mean they think they have a better replacement, or the team is playing terrible, or hes been a problem. A good team(like Frankfurt) isnt going to sell their best forward in January without anything but an absolutely ludicrous bid. But you can get them to do that in the summer.

They are both typical last 90 minutes of the window in a panic types these two, you watch, followed by a fan of a new club signing up here to find out what they are like.
