So it makes sense Toff, sell an important player for us in the middle of the season for £30m, and pay £45/50m to replace him.

Honestly, come the summer, I'd consider £30m, maybe less, for Gana. But we'd have to change how we play and have a decent replacement in. I'm okay with that.

Just not in the middle of the season, which is actually in the balance. Still have every chance of 7th, and still have a cup to aim for.

Selling Gueye for 30m and getting Doucoure for 40m would be superb imo.

A younger, stronger, more dynamic version of Gueye and whose value is only going to go up.

Yes, that'd be ace. But it wouldn't happen, I don't think, in the middle of the season.

Plus, if we sell Gana, we're in the same boat of needing another midfielder anyway, because we need one as it is, even with Gana.

But in FIFA player from different countries and different leagues who don’t speak English come in to a PL side and are boss from day one

He'll be 27 shortly after next Christmas. If we sign him in the summer his value isn't going to rise (I actually thought he was younger than he is). Now or never for a big fee imo. We don't want another Sigurdsson-type situation of spending 40-odd million and having next to no resale value two years down the line. I'd dangle 30m at Watford now and hope Doucoure makes move to get himself out of there, hoping they cave in towards the end of the window, and be prepared to go up to 40m.

He is in his prime though and that's what we need right now. Sign him and Gomes for 60m total and we're set for at least three years in the middle of the park. That money can more or less recouped by selling Gueye (30m), Schneiderlin (10m), McCarthy, (5m), Mirallas (5m) and Besic (5m).

Niasse (10m) and Tosun (15m) plus can fund us a new centre half, then we just need to find cash for a good striker. Wages will go down significantly by the end of next transfer window, too, with the likes of Pennington, Galloway, Browning, Garbutt, Jagielka, Stekelenberg, Martina, Williams all going ...

There will be no takers for him come the summer. Well not for 30 mil. PSG will have bigger fish to fry. This is a massive window of opportunity we can’t pass up.
