January Transfer Thread 2017

He's not amazing by any stretch, but works decent in a back 3. I really like Williams and think Jags still has a bit in the tank. Holgate could probably do a job if we were desperate too. Enner Valencia is our only other option up front
We've also got a couple in the youth squad like Pennington and Browning that would be nice to see if could be given a few minutes.

Can't believe the amount of heads falling off just because there are no rumoured incomings.

People are getting really desperate.

Lads we've just spunked over £30m early in the January window.

Get a grip.

I don't think there are many heads falling off. Most of us are very happy with the way things have gone. Still 2-3 to come in, still 2 weeks of window open, long way to get yet. If we don't get someone in (but we will) - means we have a squad Ronald is cool with. Bring it on!

Unfortunately probably true but provided we keep in the current league position there is little downside to giving them a chance if we have injuries and seeing if they take it vs buying in someone this window who isn't the perfect fit just to provide cover.

...it's a very fair point. It looks like we could be in no-mans land and although you wouldn't want to use the Premier League as trial matches it would make sense. I suppose much depends on whether RK has already made his mind up on certain individuals and also where opportunities arise with injuries etc.

We need new magic.

A quick, hard-working, and technically gifted player, Felipe Anderson is predominantly known for his pace and is regarded as one of the fastest players in the modern game, he also possesses good ball control, and dribbling ability; he is also a versatile player, and is capable of playing as a forward, as a winger, and as an attacking midfielder. In addition to his technical skills, he is gifted with powerful striking ability from distance with either foot, and is an accurate set-piece and penalty kick taker. He can also serve as an assist-man due to his creative ability and eye for the final pass.

United have been linked with this lad since last summer.

I think it would be extremely naive not to sign a top center half and just rely on the youth. We have not secured 7th and we still need to try and push for 6th. Jagielka is gone legs wise, holgate still young and funes mori still has to improve on his positional sense. We need a cb in there's no question about it for me.

Pennington needs a loan, Galloway isn't good enough to be a starter at center half and we dont have enough quality there.

Its just as important as the striker for me.

Transfer Standard striker Ishak Belfodil (25) to Everton has been cancelled. The negotiations between the three parties have finally been broken off. Good news for coach Aleksandar Jankovic, because his best player now continues until the end of the season in Liège. Standard runs have 12 million wrong.

Ishak Belfodil to Everton, the handling of the deal seemed only a formality. But yesterday the negotiations were finally discontinued. The two clubs last week however reached an agreement in principle on the transfer fee, but there were doubts within Everton. Other than technical director Steve Walsh would trainer Ronald Koeman is not as convinced of Belfodil. The Dutchman had negative signals about the character of the Algerian, who in his career has made a difficult trail. Walsh, however, pressed on. Already two months ago he made his interest known and had even been an exploratory conversation with some Belfodil Board members of the Toffees.

The English wanted to so a deal, but on their terms. That is to say by the appropriate intermediaries (brokers). Belfodil brokers could not appreciate the power game of the English and ran the negotiations thereby delayed. Eventually it turned out one of the reasons for the failure of the transfer. It was quiet in the past few days from Liverpool. It did not need more if necessary for Everton, that Sunday with 4-0 meat made from Manchester City. Finally, the transfer was completely blown off.

For the transfer of course the jumpoff Belfodil is a disappointment. After four months he had Standard developed by free player to target by a participant in the Premier League. His English dream can once again just in the refrigerator. He is Sunday against Club Brugge.

So Walsh wanted him, but Koeman didn't so deal off.

Interesting..

Hoping this doesn't turn in to another Payet situation where we missed out and regretted it.

Hoping the big money signing will be a CB in his prime. Van Dijk or Monolas or Gimenez. Need an attacking midfielder if Del is gone. Another backup striker will be nice. Then we are probably done for this window.
