Didn't we actually offer Baxter a new contract, but he turned it down because he felt he was at a stage in his career where he needed first team football, so he decided to move on to get first team footy?

Haven't seen anyone reporting that.

This is true. He thought he'd lined up a contract at Crystal Palace but it fell through and he was then out of work for a few months.
