January Transfer Thread 2017

The battle lines for this transfer deadline day are forming for the final battle on Tuesday.

The early skirmishes in January was won by the excuse makers and it looked likely that they would over run the bed wetters lines and an early victory would be had.

But, as time has progressed the bed wetters have stood firm and battled back.

So Jim, come Tuesday it could go either way. But I'm predicting BLOOD, BLOOD AND MORE BLOOD.

That's one that ain't going away, the Newcastle journos reporting around it are normally clued in with what's happening, no loss of he goes really, we will struggle to get all our cms games as is now.

Yeah im of agreement with you here. I like mccarthy and i think koeman does too.
But i think he has to many players ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment. And his injury record recently hasent been to good either.
Id prefer to keep mccarthy ahead of the likes of barry or besic, but i cant see koeman wanting to get rid of barry and i can see mccarthy wanting to move to get game time

Likes of swansea, norwich & newcastle linked with fc utrecht's seb haller, who we were linked with in the summer.

Papers talking about 6.5million or round abouts, i think he is worth a gamble for lukaku's backup.

Saying that i cant see him wanting to come here just to be used as a 10 minute sub when we are losing or chasing a game

Aye Barry will likely be ok with a squad role, seeing his game time diminish and becoming a player for certain games or to bring on last 15, besic coming back from a bad injury so likely not expecting to see much game time till next summer. McCarthy just can't see being happy being 4th choice behing two players the manager bought on and a young local lad
