I could see Galloway coming back in or even god help us Garbutt being used as back up.

That's a possibility - although I think Galloway would struggle massively to play in Baines' position in the 3-4-3.

Or a left midfielder - if and when we are playing 3 at the back.

Possible, although it'd have to be a hard-working midfielder, rather than an out-and-out winger to play in Baines' position.

...unless he thinks we can make do with what we have. From a short-term perspective he could use the likes of Kenny on the left side although I'm sure a LB is on the shopping list (we were linked with the young French lad, Carolina).

...I'm not sure the risk would be 'big'. My assumption is RK preferred Oviedo to Galloway as back up LB. My own judgement is that Kenny would provide at least as good cover as Oviedo even if he is naturally right sided. Kenny came through the ranks as a CB, he's a real competitive defender who also has the energy to go forward. If we don't get another LB in I'd actually prefer him to Oviedo.

Galloway is good cover for Mori on the left of a back three.
If we have freed up wages then we should try and get the striker/Rom link up player.
Mertens would be so good.
