So, what are we doing tonight? Is the Keane deal off? What about that Caio lad? Sauces? Man, i remember TDD was a blast in here back in the day, are we all kept in the dark today?

True, but if we want to kick on into that elite group of clubs then we need to accept that when you are in multiple competitions the word backup means less and less. Football is increasingly a squad game and that is how we should sell it to incoming players.

This is also true.

But we're not yet in that position so I think it's fair to utilise the current crop of youngsters first.

Then, if/when we are back in Europe, then we go out and make sure we have the quality back-up options.

For example, come summer we will almost certainly be in for a CB, LB and GK. That's three right off the bat.

If the ones we want in those positions aren't available right now, then we're seemingly willing to go and try for them in the summer.

I'm a bit worried about full backs as well. Coleman and Baines hardly ever get injured though, so fingers crossed!

Duffus gave the Man U Bailey a torrid time yesterday.

yeah he did. I think Koeman see's that these kids are more than capable and better options than the likes of Kone and Gibson which is why he isn't panicking about signings unless they are going to seriously improve the team.

Kone and Defoe could be an interesting partnership for them. I'd want at least £6m for him though, isn't that what we paid for him?
