There is far more of a need to be practical than flashy with signings, until we have a group of players that can consolidate us comfortably back in the top 7.
What may seem like underwhelming or unexpected signings may very well gel together far more effectively as a team, that's what we're looking for and what Koeman did at Southampton.
Given our current problems, it is recovery and stability we need first and foremost. If we do make the promised land it will be at least a two or even three-stage process.
There has probably never been a higher number of players within the squad that for whatever reason, I wouldn't be particularly bothered about losing either.
Let's hope the opportunity to overhaul and rebuild is fully grasped over the next 2 or 3 windows.
