Thing is for all the valencia love in at the minute.

Would any active striker/wider player do just a good a role? Seems to be forgotton that valencia is literally the best we have and the lad doesn't score hardly any in english football. If he is doing a decent job then fine, can deal with that this year, but longer term i don't want to keep him and hope the club don't want to either.
absolutely. I thought he did a great job on Tuesday, almost the Shane Long role Koeman liked at Southampton and he has every right to start on Monday against that lot. He ran all game, put pressure on players and linked up and made space for Rom nicely. If he can do that consistently between now and the summer he might earn a contract but i doubt the manager considers him a long term option. Kone did the same thing for a few games last season too. For me it just highlighted the need to play someone up there with Rom to get the best out of him.

Or, take him out of the other 31 fixtures and see what results you get. Sometimes the arguments people post are ridiculous.

Im guessing you are saying im ridiculous, in which case let me explain.
Every winning team needs that bit of quality to win trophies.
Suarez was world class that year, literally. Liverpool did not have the quality required to win the league once he went missing for a few games for various incidents.

United for example when they win the league have something like Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez with Berbatov as a sub. City had say aguero and dzeko but needed the likes of negredo and jovetic (although the latter two struggled a little). Liverpool had suarez, Sturridge and coutinho, but in reserve they only had Iago Aspas IIRC. You need more quality than just one world class striker.

You cannot tell me that Mignolet, Henderson, allen and co would be great champions ? Gerrard, Sturridge and Suarez yes, but the rest no. My argument is not about Suarez and his qualitites, its about the rest around them including the bench when players get injured etc.

he set the template of what we need imo though

a versatile forward, with a bit of pace and tenacity, willing to put in some graft, which in turn allows our 20-goal per-season striker the space he needs.

Absolutely, I trust Koemi to find that player too,but not from West Ham

I'm really dubious about him. Jose couln't get him to put a decent shift in, will Koemi?
Too late for Mourinho to do anything as he looks like his confidence has hit rock bottom. In hindsight this move came too early and he should have stayed at PSV for at least another year, Van Gaal admitted that he only stepped in to make the signing because PSG were pushing hard to get him.

Koeman wanted him before and could help him get back on track.

Perfectly happy if we get both tbh mate.

I like depay he has a lot of ability I think him being friends with ROM will help him here.

José never really been one for helping younger players with low confidence and huge potential he prefers ready made players.

Depay and schneiderlin would be a brilliant boost for us and a really good start into the window. Hope we get them in early

Jose isn't the manager he was the first time he was at Cheslea. Back then those players would run through brick walls for him, he built them up and gave them the confidence to be the best they could be. I think he did the same at Inter but since Real Madrid he's been bitter and almost spiteful toward talented players. They were superstars and he was no longer the main event. When he went back to Chelsea it was very much the same and now at United too. As for youth players etc. I think the attitude in young players has changed maybe and he struggles to impose himself there too? Most are rich before really establishing themselves in the first team and i'd imagine the drive to succeed when you already have a Bentley and a mansion at 19 is different to players 15-20 years ago who had to play well and earn bigger better contracts. It's what sets the great young players apart from the rest i guess. From reading (and nothing else) i get the impression Depay is a little like that. Clearly exceptionally talented but not the superstar he thinks he already is. It looks like Jose has just given up on him (and the likes of Schneiderlin) because at United they can.... where as most other clubs when investing £50m in two players try to make them work.

Well, he's only started one game in fairness, and we created much more chances in that game than we have in about two months.

Long term, I don't think anyone would say he's the answer, but he is the template we should be looking at.

Rodrigo is a weird one. Never been a great goalscorer, but he's often been shunted out wide in his career. Was good at Benfica but hasn't really kicked on since going to Valencia.
In that case, Callum Wilson is a good shout. Rodrigo looks to have a wand of a left foot, sold!

Ajaz dropped him from the team and then basically gave him away.

I suspect hes not as good as you thought.

The new manager plays the traditional ajax style....Bazoer doesnt really fit into the central positions in the traditional sense.

Thats the view in some press reports why he wasnt in the side.

Heard he was off to wolfsburg a week ago and put it on here...got over it...and now see the transfer fee. Amazing.
