Links originally from a couple of rags, then Sunderland chairman came out and said there is no money, sell to buy, then something in the Sunderland paper which was mentioned on their fans forum that he could be the one to move as they value him in excess of 25 million, after less than 20 league games....

Regardless, the indication that we are already on with negotiations is encouraging rather that a standing start on the 1st January.

this is exactly what we need to do isn't it Eggs. Literally on the 1st Jan players signed up which shows we've been working hard, sounding out players to make sure they want to come, no messing about and a huge boost for the squad to see us spending big and a massive boost for the fans as well.

Get everyone in as early as possible and spend the rest of the window trying to ship out some of the utter crap who we still have
in the squad.

Think we will get Dzagoev as well, don't see Walsh specifically going and watching CSKA with there General director unless he's serious

with him and Schneiderlin signing that's our central midfield area boxed off and we'd finally have good options. Get rid of Gibson and Cleverley and that then hopefully opens up squad space for Davies in January whilst Gana is at the AFCON

Dzagoev could easily slot out to the left as well when needed instead of Lennon/Mirallas etc

plus Depay will be over that side and that leaves us with Mirallas, Lennon and Del for that rhs slot plus not forgetting Valencia can slot in either side.

just need a boss striker or someone to play just behind, centre back and keeper and we will be up and running!

How do you think he could handle playing wide in the prem?. And would he score goals from an advanced position? As obviously we are pretty light when it comes to goals from the flanks

Dying for Schneiderlin to sign before or just as Gana leaves for the AFCON, therefore we're not worrying about using Cleverley in the middle and then Schneiderlin and Barry can build somewhat of a rapport while Gana is away winning the AFCON.

Depay, who I'm not too fussed but will welcome, just gives another option out wide. He's different to what we've got and knows Rom so could hit the ground running.

Getting Depay and Schneiderlin in within the first couple of days would be massive for us I think ... then over the following couple of weeks can hopefully bring in Dzagoev and hopefully another striker and centre back ... can't see us getting a top keeper in January I'd be happy for Stek to see the season out

....totally agree, Matey. The other point about not doing at least some business early is teams become desperate as the window closes.
