I think all three were actually good signings at the time - and still could be.
We needed a younger left sided defender who could play from the back - Mori.
We needed a strong leader who is a solid player to stabilise us after RM - Williams.
We also needed a young pair of fresh legs in the middle to compliment barry's ageing legs - McCarthy.
All needed at the time and they weren't exactly costing us a fortune. Niasse for £14m is a different story.
