January Transfer Thread 2017

It's never been our way. And outside a handful of managers clubs in the PL I cant think of many managers as aloof and vague about transfers as Koeman is. It's obviously a very conscious policy not to do that on his part.
'Continental' is how I'd put him. Moyes did use this kind of analytical stuff quite a lot. But Moyes would have final say. How many signings fell apart after he met them? Bellamy was a horror but at the time he would of improved us.
Weird how Drenthe has come out saying how much he regretted blowing his chance at Everton- you were at Real Madrid you bell!

I'll have to look for the exact quote later, but this is one...

"The player has to buy into what the manager wants to do and Mr Koeman certainly knows what he wants and I'm going to try and fulfill that with the players that he desires in the position he wants." (Walsh)
I've read the quote about them both having to say yes, also.

Yes and the run they were on around our game they won 1 in 7 and won 2 in 12 to the end of the season.

I think you need to check that.

Their 2 results leading up to it were a home draw with Stoke and a home draw with West Ham where they were played off the park.

We need some signings to take this squad on.

West ham was after they played us after there season was ended by us.

They were the FA cup favourites who were on an 18 game unbeaten run when they played us including beating City 5-1 only 2 weeks before, winning away at Arsenal, Southampton and drawing at United also.

But your right Ian, Martinez didn't beat any decent sides in any of his cup runs.

Southampton will sell VVD to us for about 40m (50m will be reported at with some silly add-ons included which we will never have to pay) , and will buy Sahko from the rs for 20m

*taps nose

No source for this whatsoever but taking a big punt on it lol

I know I am, that's a humungous stretch claiming the City result BTW.

Exactly. About as clear as mud who initially rates the player as good enough and who makes the decisions to approach the player.
