Don't want Sigurdsonn personally.

I wanted him in the summer.

Think him on the left in a midfield of him, Schneiderlin, Gana and Ross would be boss. In fact i'm doing it....i'm being a Zat and doing a line up

------------------Keeper--------------
Coleman---Keane-----Williams----Baines
---Davies----Gana-----Schneiderlin----Siguurdsson
------------------Barkley--------------------
----------------------Lukaku--------

However, on reflection no real width in that side.....oh well back to the drawing board, i'm leaving this to Koeman

clearly koeman has asked for a target man to play alongside rom (might actually benefit rom a lot having someone else do a bit of the dirty work) and if it's belfoldil who walsh thinks will improve us, i'm all for it.

He's had a lot of clubs, but still young and can still improve. Even if he doesn't score a load of goals, if he can bring others in to play, and make more room for rom to score more goals it'll be worth it just for that.
Second this!

Most overrated underrated player in existence.

Do I think he is a good player- yes.

Would he significantly improve us - not in my opinion.

His stats are good for chance creation - but crucially nowhere near as good as Baines who he'd be up against - and from open play Barkley is better.

Wouldn't make us any quicker, doesn't seem like the type to press from the front. Also don't think he is good enough in open play to get a free role like Mata would have been.

Swansea won't sell their best player, joint top-scorer and leading assists provider for £25m when they are staring relegation in the face and Moussa Sissoko sold for £30m six months ago.

They don't NEED to sell him, so can't be pressured into accepting an under-value bid. There might not be widespread interest in him (the top six are all well-stocked for attacking mids) but his value to Swansea right now is very high and he's six months into his current contract. If we were to go for him we would have to pay through the nose, and I think Sissoko's transfer sets the market at the moment (which is why Schneiderlin represents good value at £22m - £24m IMHO).

Only factor that potentially changes this would be if the player wanted the move AND had a relegation release clause, which would leave Swansea fearful of losing him for below their valuation when they get relegated.

You are right that he's a great player. I just disagree with your theory that we could get him for £25m.

We desperately need goalscoring midfielders in the squad.

Attacking midfielders: Del, Mirallas, Bolasie, Barkley, Lennon = maximum 15 goals a season between them.

Defensive midfielders: McCarthy, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Besic, Barry = probably around 5 goals a season between them

Seeing as we only have one striker in the squad we desperately need more goalscorers, and not just a second striker. Please sign a proven number 10, a flying winger and a second striker, Ronald!

Playfully posted on here a few weeks back about putting a bid in for James Rodriguez at real madrid. Just seen the chinese have offered them 110m euros and the lad 30m euros a year net and both parties turned it down. Good players are going to be impossible to get soon, because not everyone are going to turn down deals like that.

La DH is usually correct about Standard transfers.

I'd wait until his contract is up in the summer and get him for free / on a tribunal. Definitely has a questionable attitude so shelling out 20m on him now would be silly imo. Get him on the cheap, give him a 3-year deal and sell him if he causes trouble - there will always be some soft manager willing to throw 10m at us to take him.

He wont go for anywhere near £20 mill, reckon it would be about £10mill now.

They're working on a new rule to stop the Chinese leagues offering ridiculous amounts of money.
