January Transfer Thread 2020

If we cant get a decent CB in from abroad I wouldnt mind a look at the Dunk.

Proper no nonsense CB grock who's a threat from set pieces.

Missed that old school English CB - something I hoped Keane would be but is actually a pussycat.
Carlo (multiple league, cup and CL winner across various countries) Ancelotti does not know what a Dunk is ,and I am fairly sure he has no intention of ever finding out

Pickford
? Mina ? Digne
? Gbamin
Richarlison ? ?
?

6 first team players need to be brought in over the next two transfer windows. We’re going to have to spend around the £300m mark to get the club competitive again.

I’m assuming Ancelotti has been told the funds are there, otherwise there is no point in hiring such a manager.
We will recoup some of that 300m through sales

i WOULD SAY ABOUT 10 BOB

I’d add a top quality right winger in Jan IF the right one is available
Sidibe. Mina. ???? Digne
??? Gbamin. Siggy. Ricarlison
Zlatan. Kean/DCL
THAT side would pick up enough points to get us challenging the top six
However if the right players are not available in Jan we wait till the summer
I seen an interview with Zlatan and the one thing that impressed me was his professionalism and dedication to hard work.
He said he trains as hard as plays and that’s the minimum that should be expected of any player

I think "match winners" in wide positions we are probably lacking. I still think Iwobi will come good for us, and between Walcott and young Gordon we may be ok. Look I'm sure none of us are complaining if Insigne pitches up but it's not my initial criteria.

This will sound odd and there are some ifs and buts, but if we added Koulibaly and Zlatan to this squad, and got the best out of Gbamin and Kean I think it could finish in the top 4.

The young lads have really impressed me with their attitude and endeavour during this run. The likes of Davies, Holgate, DCL may not be guaranteed starters but fantastic squad players..

Personally I think the last thing we need is another young player who will need plenty of time to adjust.

Im not saying buy Gareth Barry, but would prefer somebody ready to go at this point.

Carlo would need to make a judgement if Tonali is ready to go straight in. If he is we ought to consider signimg him. Seen Zielinski linked too.

His stats on champ man are off the charts!!

Zat told me

Tonali passes like Pirlo and tackles like Gattuso.

No exageration.

I wonder how Zat picked those 2 players to compare him to??

Regarded as a promising young Italian player in his position in the media, Tonali is a regista, and is often likened to Andrea Pirlo – who also started his career with Brescia – in terms of his movement, coordination, appearance, technical qualities, position, and playing style. A strong, energetic, elegant, and creative, midfielder, with excellent vision and an ability to read the game, Tonali usually plays in a central or defensive midfield role as deep-lying playmaker in a 4–3–3 formation, and shows maturity and character beyond his young age. Dictating play for Brescia with his passing in midfield, he set up two goals and even scored two himself in his 19 appearances in Serie B during the 2017–18 season. Although naturally right-footed, he is known for his accurate long passing ability with either foot.[2][3][4][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23] In addition to Pirlo, Tonali has also cited Steven Gerrard and Luka Modrić as influences, and has also compared his own playing style to that of Gennaro Gattuso.[24] In July 2019, he was named by UEFA as one of the 50 promising young players to watch for the 2019–20 season.[25]

I bet any amount of money Zat has never seen this lad kick a ball.
