....the Branthwaite links seem too strong to be false. He looks mobile for a big lad, £800k would seem low risk for a 17 year old. As you say, it’s a fruitful strategy buying youngsters from the lower leagues. I’d image Feeney and/or Gibson will be released if he comes in.

i would expect us to acquire another CB for first team consideration and Todibo appears the type Brands has been looking for to partner Mina.

I think the Branthwaite deal seems to be a no brainer.

Its definitely going to be interesting to see who comes in at CB and CM.

The Hamez links on loan are very strong but i think thats an "additional" player to the 2 positions we need filling with younger players who have extremely high potential...getting them in now gives them to the end of the season + then pre season to get up to speed.

I like the Ferro + Ruben Dias links...neither particularly fast but very good positionally...they remind me of Ricardo Carvalho of Chelsea in that sense. Again though I doubt Benfica would sell their starting centre backs (possibly unless it was a deal now with them joining in the summer).

Ruben Dias is the most well known with the 16 caps and 66 games for benfica while Ferro has played 20+ games only at the same age.

Sadly Ferro is the left sided player so more of a risk i imagine.

Nice links though...

Todibo i think will join AC Milan, the links there are very strong now.

Ferro (left) 6'3 and Ruben Dias 6'1 (right) are both big centre backs who are very good all rounders and both 22. Neither is super fast but not slow either and both seem strong positionally.

Gedson Fernandes seems a player similar in style to Manny Fernandes...all action centre mid who can tackle, pass, run etc

Branthwaite is the kid were supposedly bidding for.

Seems legit. Go after Champs League perennials' prospects or kid from Carlisle!!

....there needs to be a buyer and I expect his wages are a factor. if the loan deal is with an English club, I would hope it includes an option to buy.

Just sell him for whoever his boo fee is. Can’t be much more than 14m and a loan fee would probably cost whoever takes him a couple of million anyway. The worry I have is that we loan him, he’s gash, and then everyone knows 100% that he’s gash in the prem. At least now they’re only 70% sure and with a cheap price maybe, just maybe someone is desperate enough to take a punt to stay in the league

Villa would make most sense, do a loan with a compulsory option to buy if they stay up.

As written about elsewhere, the financial results seemed predictable given the poor buys, high wages and manager merry-go-round.

Talking of financials, not sure what the point of loaning Rodriguez for 6 months is - depending on whether we are still in the FA cup tomorrow.

We are short on CB so seems sensible to start there.

Midfield is a conundrum.

Telegraph crying about our record losses but says we are interested in MERIH DEMIRAL from Juve.

All this just reaffirms what we already know and suspect... Usmanov is about to unload a fairly heavy investment into Everton, one way or another.

Don’t lose any sleep over it... it’s just the Journos trying to keep plucky old Everton in their place!

£2.5mil a league position.

Higher league position attracts better players.

See if he adapts to the league.

Gives our young forwards better passes.

Some reasons for Hamez on loan.

....

We're in desperate need of quality in the midfield. Loaning him for 6 months to test him out is very logical.

We are still in with every chance of european football next season. Will boost profile and other bigger names will show interest.

CLEAR logic to signing him.
