I dont think the clubs insurance covers wages of injured players mate.

Do you have any idea how much a policy like that would cost?
Yes; generally, clubs insure all of their football players in the event of an injury, given how much they're worth as assets to the clubs. This insurance helps cover the players' salaries when they can't play through illness or injury.

I'm not going to go into fine research Goat, but generally i believe they are insured, I'm not suggesting that if someone stubs a toe they claim on it, but if someone does their ACL, breaks a leg etc, they are covered for sure.

They are insured, but honestly, I doubt it covers injury.

Completely agree mate. I'd even stick Gana in there for the 'back six/backfour and 2 pivots' role for the short-term. Problem is that we have nobody who can play that "3rd midfielder" role to aid the two holding players.

That may be a little harsh on Iwobi, who has been a standout in 2022. If we played with one holding player then Iwobi could be that box-to-box link.

I think our front three is so poor, If we had anyone who could control a football like Iwobi can, I'd be sticking Iwobi out right, giving Patterson that licence to push on and then putting that tidy footballer we dont have in that space Iwobi takes now.

Whether that completely hurts Iwobi i dont know, but i'd have more faith in him understnading how to attack and coming inside than anyone else in that position, at present at least.
No. Never again.

I'm fairly sure they are, but there is no point us going back and forth.

On the note regarding the cost of the policy, it is insane to us, but in footballing terms it isn't, as you know money is everything now unfortuantely.

Looks like we are bidding 25 million for Danny Ings.

Interesting one is Ings.

Feels like a reasonable amount for what amounts to a short term fix. On the other hand, if he stays fit I think he's a starker that gets you 1 in 3 and offers good all round ability. Good hold up and link up play but also happy to run the channels and stretch defences.

Would be a better signing if we were getting a 26 year old Danny Ings rather than the version that's 31 before the start of next season

Would just be typical Everton for us to go and sign the only No9 who can rival DCL for injury proneness ?‍♂️ As for £25m being a 'reasonable amount' for a lad who is 30, well, I don't even know where to begin with that one. Hopefully you meant £2.5m, and he comes with a receipt.

I do agree with your point regarding Townsend, I think some people think these players should be Everton 24 hours a day and heaven forbid they do something for themselves.
