40-50m!

Would just be typical Everton for us to go and sign the only No9 who can rival Dominic Calvert-Lewin for injury proneness ?‍♂️ As for £25m being a 'reasonable amount' for a lad who is 30, well, I don't even know where to begin with that one. Hopefully you meant £2.5m, and he comes with a receipt.
It's a reasonable amount if Ings comes in and gets 10 league goals between Jan and end of the season.

That's something he's easily capable of doing.

How much is staying in the PL worth? A fair bit more than 25M hence why I think it's reasonable given the obvious gap currently in the scoring department.

He's also capable of getting injured in the first game, and more likely to do so than others.

Like Danny Ings personally, natural poacher, but not a great injury history.

He’s barely hit 10 goals in one and a half seasons for Aston Villa, how’s he going to achieve that in half a season with Dwight McNeil and Demarai Gray supplying him?

Signing Gana made sense.
We needed a new midfield immediately and Gana was a cheap option who already knew the club and the league.

Of course, we need to look out for the best young talent around, but they don't all succeed either and sometimes they can block the path for the young players in the academy.

If there was an easy fix then I think every club would already be doing it, not just Everton.
I'm afraid I disagree. What is it they say, never go back? This isn’t even a quick fix, he’s been poor and well off the pace imo.

Wonder what the obligation condition is for Cunha?

That's an insane amount of money for his record. Could be a potentially great signing for them but a big risk.

Completely agree mate. I'd even stick Gana in there for the 'back six/backfour and 2 pivots' role for the short-term. Problem is that we have nobody who can play that "3rd midfielder" role to aid the two holding players.

That may be a little harsh on Iwobi, who has been a standout in 2022. If we played with one holding player then Iwobi could be that box-to-box link.

I think our front three is so poor, If we had anyone who could control a football like Iwobi can, I'd be sticking Iwobi out right, giving Patterson that licence to push on and then putting that tidy footballer we dont have in that space Iwobi takes now.

Whether that completely hurts Iwobi i dont know, but i'd have more faith in him understnading how to attack and coming inside than anyone else in that position, at present at least.

Gana next to Onana for now. We'll need to see if Garner or Price can take the role off Gana by season end.

Thats really crucial for the summer business we do.

Of course then we have the four positions:

LW
ACM
RW
CF

We have to be after the Kudus' and Gakpo's before they explode and to be fair to Thelwell is appears that he is aware.

Could really do with 2 masterstrokes in Jan

Im not totally convinced that Coady is a forgone conclusion, there may be an agreement in place between Wolves and Everton, but the lad himself will have a say and there are always three parties , if Wolves rocket up the table and their new manager fancies him, speaks to him, twists his arm and tells him hes key to the future and we tank, the lad will do what's best for him.

Id be shocked if he went back to Wolves or elsewhere. Think he'll be locked in with Tarkowski for 4 or 5 seasons.

What we need to do is see Branthwaite and one other as competition while selling the others to bring in funds.

I think that was going to be Kudus, we will have to wait and see what happens.

Of course. I think ideally someone out wide and another midfielder who can both add an X Factor are needed along with a goalscorer.

We really need sales to generate funds.

He's pretty decent but he's not 40/50m decent.

Looked decent coming off the left before be joined Atletico. That being said, £20-30mil would seem fair before he failed in Spain.

This fee seems madness.
