January Transfer Window 2023

I agree, we could get a decent replacement as keepers are always available. But it is a risk Pickford can make those saves at important times. As proved in the run in last season. But we need money for a forward and in January you have to pay over the odds to get them.
I think 2 of DCL, Pickford and Gordon will be sold before the 30th of June. To
Make This years books look healthier. And
With other sales, like kean, plus 7/8 players out of contracts gone. It could mean we could spend a bit next summer.

Everton need and want two attackers.

We definitely aren't out of the running for Kudus though obviously him having a great World Cup will mean the price either will be high and/or there'll be lots of other clubs interested.

Don't have any other names, just that Kudus is still a target.

They want a creative attacker (for me that's just as crucial if not more so) and a more 'out and out' striker.

EDIT: I doubt any of this is 'news' to anyone who has been following closely. I've honestly paid little attention to anything Everton related for the last month but yeah, we definitely, definitely still want Kudus. Have that on good authority :)

Yes read the piece, another echo journalist just reporting everything, we already know.

Would be typical to see price sign a pre contact with a club abroad while we give new deals to Davies and doucoure ???

Based on Davies' comments recently, sounds like he wont be offered a new deal.

Doucoure will get the 1 year option activated at best id imagine. Which is 'fine'.

Although I dont rate him really rate him.

thing with Kudus, we've been a bit unlucky with Anthony moving soon after we agreed a deal so it scuppered it.

But the big tihng, hes a left footed right sided player. or can play 10. It's IDEAL.

Just worry we've missed the boat now due to world cup. Which I cant blame the club for.

Mina - end of contact
Davies - end of contract (although his wages will be relatively low)
Begovic - end of contract (although again, relatively low wages id imagine)
Doucoure - end of contract (potentially activated another year though)
Kean 27m guranteed into the bank.

Already looking healthier.

Gordon about to sign a new deal.
Iwobi about to sign a new deal. (apparently, and this is where im not a finance person, the amortisation of a players transfer free gets extended, so this would potentiall bring our P&L into a better state?)
Pickford in talks over a new deal.

With regarding transfers;

Pickford - where is he going if he leaves us? United, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs all have their set goalkeepers.
DCL - not sure who takes him, poor injury record, goalscoring record over his career isnt brilliant, has had a great purple patch under Carlo.

There was talk in the Summer about doucoure, and I think by extending it would have given the club 3.5mil with his Last year going to 2 years on His book price, well that’s how I think it works.

Now that it hasn’t happened, im not sure it will his extra years salary could be spent better elsewhere

It can happen as late as it needs to I imagine. But I agree, i'm not sure what we gain by extending it at this point. Usually you see it getting extended with 2 years left, when the player is an asset and probably worth protecting.

Yes just mentioned that regarding doucoure and his extra year. On the books at a guess iwobi is 6mil a year, could now be down to 2mil
Also the other keeper is out of contract, Townsend and is Coleman? Plus down to one year left dele, Gomes and gbamin.

It’s took a while but hopefully as we move into the new ground we go there, with a smaller wage bill, age of the squad down and no big/long contacts for players on their late 20’s

Nice one mate, thanks for that. How did you get on in Qatar?

True, but then you look at some of his errors this season, and in previous and think - maybe a steady goalkeeper mightnt be the worst thing

Think the price will be prohibitive, Ajax are no mugs.

Well I doubt Henderson goes back to utd, and de gea not the keeper he was, spurs been linked with Pickford before and loris is past his best. And big question marks over both Chelsea keepers.

With only a year left on Pickford’s deal in the summer I think it will force a few clubs to go for him now.

Yeah thats what i was sort of getting at. If you're Ajax, you're now saying, well we can get 30m now rather than say 20m.

It is what it is. I dont blame the for club for that. Alot to blame them for but not on this case for me.
Just read that apparently we are no longer submitting paperwork to the FA with regards to PL profit and loss, which cna only be a good thing..

United have De Gea though, not sure the're swapping De Gea for pickford personally.
Spurs linked, not a fan of Lloris me anyway, but could i see Conte going for pickford? Not sure.
Chelsea have two decent keepers, question marks sure but again, cant see that being a priority for them.

As i Said, we're in talks to extend pickfords contract. Unless there is tangible interest in him via his agent, they will agree something im sure.
