January Transfer Window 2023

I'm sure after hearing that Mina isn't going to put himself about in case he's injured again and it endangers his free transfer and high wage move to another club.

Id say he’s unlikely to get as good a deal elsewhere as here, which might mean he stays put and “fights for his place”. The only thing that could be a draw for him to move, might be a longer term contract elsewhere. 3.1 mill for six months work is a lot to walk away from though….

I remember a time when I worried about Barcas buy back clause. lol

Every talented young player gets links to 2 or 3 of the sly 6, it’s how it works in the media, especially twitter let’s hashtag lfc or utd or Chelsea and get plenty of people clicking.

Richarlison isn’t even guaranteed a game at spurs and they still have Moura so kudus will be 5th or 6th choice. Does he what to sit on the bench? Same at utd with them going for Gakpo and they have a couple of talented young attackers getting the odd game to add to the rest. I doubt he goes to one of the 6 in England can see maybe a dortmund or maybe an Italian club
I suppose for players if one of big six come in for them and say we came in it’s a trade off between do they want the game time at Everton, or sitting on bench and getting the odd cup games at a big six club?

Richarlison is a good example, was arguably our best player and Brazil’s no.9 and he isn’t even guaranteed a start for spurs.

I think we have done well at getting rid of the big earners/hangers on. Tosun, Richy, Gomes, now Mina. We have to do better business in the future and ensure exceptional players are on such wages, not poor ones.

His agent is still very much in contact with the club but yes, my worry is if bigger fish come calling.

We need our act together, though. I don't see any reason why a deal can't have been tied up ready to go - for a player, not necessarily Kudus - for the start of the window.

Yep,

Would imagine there targets identified, just wonder whats the hold up (More than the usual, reasonable theory of ' Well it's Everton').

Big shame on Kudus, looks a real talented lad but understandably bigger fish will be contemplating him. If not for their best 11 for the best 18 with how much they can rotate.

Let's hope toff, that they have plans in place, if it cant be 1st jan tied up, then early january.

Time to prepare for the january window in your post signature btw?

Links have started.

….not sure ‘it’s doing well’ when Tosun & Mina only leave when their contracts are up & Gomes is only on loan. Not sure ‘it’s doing well’ transferring our most potent attacker on the cheap to Spurs & not bringing in an effective back-up.

Our transfer dealings & contract decisions have been nothing short of downright negligence.

Everton need and want two attackers.

We definitely aren't out of the running for Kudus though obviously him having a great World Cup will mean the price either will be high and/or there'll be lots of other clubs interested.

Don't have any other names, just that Kudus is still a target.

They want a creative attacker (for me that's just as crucial if not more so) and a more 'out and out' striker.

EDIT: I doubt any of this is 'news' to anyone who has been following closely. I've honestly paid little attention to anything Everton related for the last month but yeah, we definitely, definitely still want Kudus. Have that on good authority :)
Welcome back mate

I actually wonder if Kevin Thelwell knows you're allowed to agree deals between transfer windows? He's probably preparing to dust off his little black book on New Year's Eve, oblivious to the fact that other clubs have already lined up deals to be made official on January 1.

completely agree and those that are responsible for that negligence are still here, still pulling the strings.
Its a whole new level of incompetence. We're forced to sign players not based on their ability or suitability but because they have a payment structure that works for us. That's the only reason Maupay and McNeal are here... because their previous clubs were happy to take payment on the drip... let's be fair, it's isn't their goal scoring prowess.
So we are reliant on cast offs from other teams, and Dom, who has proven he can't stay fit.... and those in charge were happy to go into the season like that? And what's worse is they all pat each other on the back and talk about how they're improving things within the club!

Never mind that, get him told he's not playing any more this season and should move in January if he wants to join a decent club. I can't imagine too many clubs will be rushing to throw a 3-4 year contract at an incredibly injury prone player who won't have played football for about 10 months.
You know for a fact that once he leaves he'll never have an injury in his career again and will be unreal for whoever he signs. It's the Everton way.
