When Everton eventually get relegated I hope my fellow fans that it is these, Football Manager playing scout nonces who want Everton’s only worthy players sold that truly caused it. Weird.

Nobody wants the best players sold, but the facts are it’s Everton. When we are doing well and we need another player or two we sign garbage and usually sell the best.

The list is endless. To think we aren’t going to cash in on Pickford, Dom (when he’s finally fit again) and Gordon is just naive.

All reports, which have been leaked to the press by Pickford's camp, is that there was a deal agreed before the World Cup.

Perhaps changes made during the WC that Pickford's camp weren't happy with?

my guess is there's a release clause for CL clubs in the new deal, and given his WC showing those at the top have decided they can get more for him if they sell now.

Especially when we keep downgrading. Probably sell Pickford for an inferior goalkeeper and waste the rest on a striker who can't score.

Understand the sentiment here but I'm also not totally sure how many "worthy players" we have that are desirable and affordable to others....pickford?, onana? Gordon?
That's a depressing change from a few years back when I'd have been fairly devastated to lose any of our first 11

We should get to the summer, hopefully still in the league thanks to a few we can rely on, then look at selling when there’s a better array of replacements and Everton recruitment have a marginally lesser chance of spewing it.

In the meantime the emphasis is on strengthening and galvanising the likes of Pickford for the remainder of the season, in my humble opinion. We replaced Richarlison with Maupay, doing similar with Pickford this January would be just plain crazy.
