Our financial position is still utterly rotten. We’re still losing money hand over fist. Somehow or other our accountants have managed to get the league to agree that a £300m+ loss over three years fits within their £105m limit. The COVID argument will come to an end soon, so of course we’re still in financial trouble and will be for a while. That’s why you tend to have a full year to plan. You know, that utter weird concept where you look at all your variables and start having things out in place
Oh struggling with cash, let’s look at lower divisions or countries outside of mainland Europe. Or, let’s look at the loan situation.
And we don’t have to sell at all
Im also fairly sure there is a plan In place, whether you want to believe it or not. I doubt they have got to January and realised they need to think about targets.
Also, do you actually think they haven't been looking at lower league players or players from Europe? The difficulty is that lower league players are a gamble. If they are any good, they will probably be expensive and have other clubs interested In signing them. As an example, it seems we have already inquired about Bremerton Diaz, Sarr, Gyokeres etc as have many other clubs. We have also linked with a number of European players, but the World Cup made it more difficult to do business as performances caused values to increase.
Finally, loans usually happen at the end of the window when the selling club has no further options to sell. That’s just the way it is.
I would love to get good players signed early, but I am also realistic. Whether we like it or not, we are not currently an attractive proposition financially, or from a footballing point of view. It is therefor3 most likely that our business will be done later on in the window.
