I get what your saying Tim, but if loaning Keane to West Ham is the difference between us staying up or going down, then maybe we should go down.I think Moyes would get him playing well in that style of play

It could be very fine margins. I dont see why we should consider giving Southampton or West Ham one of our centre halves in a deal that suits them far more than us.I get what your saying Tim, but if loaning Keane to West Ham is the difference between us staying up or going down, then maybe we should go down.
Interesting that you think giving somebody Michael Keane is helping.
So they cant have them for a 3m loan fee, but they can have them for 10m.It could be very fine margins. I dont see why we should consider giving Southampton or West Ham one of our centre halves in a deal that suits them far more than us.
I dont rate Holgate or Keane but they are both worth close to 10m in the current market. If they want to go on loan then tell their agents to find a club who will pay their wages and aren't a relegation rival.
Its more nuanced than that. It depends what club we are dealing with. Our terms need to be significantly different for any club in the bottom 6 or 7.So they cant have them for a 3m loan fee, but they can have them for 10m.
So our relegation is worth 7m to you?
Yes, im being pedantic.
Anyway, lets see what happens, a loan with an obligation would be our "best" outcome here, if Kopite Kev can get a fee I will be impressed, considering he holds no cards.
I believe Keane being utilised as a non-ball playing central defender, with a quick centre back next to him, would do a decent job for some teams - e.g. West Ham.Interesting that you think giving somebody Michael Keane is helping.
West Ham under Moyes is a great fit. Rice and Soucek do a lot of covering for the defence as well.I believe Keane being utilised as a non-ball playing central defender, with a quick centre back next to him, would do a decent job for some teams - e.g. West Ham.
The problem is that when he's expected to play the ball or play a higher line, like we often did, he becomes a liability. I think he'll actually go on to thrive elsewhere.
I agree, he`d probaly do better without the pressure Everton seems to put on players but also just a change in scenery, I think he has gone stale at Everton.I believe Keane being utilised as a non-ball playing central defender, with a quick centre back next to him, would do a decent job for some teams - e.g. West Ham.

Just like they would offer us far worse terms if we wanted one their players. Southampton basically priced us out of bidding for Adams remember.

Looks like Kevs finger was on the pulse, well prepped for Jan
