How much would Holgate go for?
Even though he’s not amazing I’d want 10-15m for him. That’s the going rate for any prem experienced player and he’s got good experience for a player who is still quite young for a defender. Plus his performances under Lampard have by and large been quite decent, it’s just that we have too many CBs. He at least belongs in the same price bracket as the likes of Maupay.

The damage was done with over several seasons of overspending. We’re reaping the rewards now.

I can’t really see us getting out of this now. The squad is too poor. I do blame the board for our state. But terms of signings, we need a saviour, not just whoever we can roll through the gate. We need a striker who will score freely in the PL. I doubt any of them are available on loan.
Yes but we didn't spent it, it was the club we have players we could off load if we need funds, we have two loan slots and we can structure deals, they should have identified one player who could make a difference and who they could bring in early over the months they had, if they are backing Frank back him, if they are sacking do it, this inertia is criminal and will cost us.

Sorry I have listened to it for years I am not letting them have any more excuses for their utter gross mismanagement of this club and horrific recruitment we barely spent anything the last two summers net and you are probably right on your second point.

Proper stuffed in my opinion. We need creativity and goals which are obviously the most difficult and expensive areas to rectify. If we manage to recruit anyone I can only imagine they will fall short of what we actually need. We haven’t got the resources or nous to find players that will make a difference now which is required as time is running out

Jelavic,Kevin Campbell? It goes both ways. We have no plan and we need goals.
Both decent strikers when we bought them who fit into the system we were playing at those times.

There is literally no point in buying another Maupay for example when our system demands the striker can hold up the ball. May as well just set fire to the money in that case.

No idea alot of names but nothing looks real. Just getting a player in that would excite the fans before the next game at home would be masdive give us all a lift

That’s the thing

What have we been doing for the last 4-5 months ??

Everyone knew we were short up front but there was no planning or targets identified let alone signings that are ready to be completed.

We’re a basket case club with no plan or strategy on the footballing side what so ever.

For me the damage has long been done. This a strategy vs tactics debate. Our long term strategy has been wrong or non existent. Because of this, our tactics are doomed to failure.

The fact we are debating whether survival depends on below average players arriving this week or next tells me we have already hopelessly failed.
