I think the fact that we now know that Moshiri used to buy players based off what his agent "mates" told him too instead of what brands wants gives him a bit of let off.

But the fact that he was happy to be hamstrung and just take the money shows that he probably isn't the type of character we want as our director of football.

Add to that he pretty much did nothing with our youth set-up even though that's one of his main attributes as a DoF. Compared to what thelwell has managed to do in 10 months of being here.

It seems to me brands gave up at everton pretty quickly and was content to just be another yes man. Safe in the knowledge that if it all went tits up that he could run back to Holland and do a load of interviews saying it wasn't his fault and the club is run like crap and he wasn't allowed to do his job.


Pretty much like he did.

So while I dont blame all the signings on brands I also think he was a terrible DoF here and was more then happy to do what most people do here and thats take the money, skate by doing the bare minimum, be a yes man and then leave like rats on a sinking ship when it starts making them look bad and blame everyone else.

What your thinking of is a DoF at a well run club.

What we've had is a DoF that is basically here as a fall guy to the board.

Things don't go well on the pitch sack the manager, things still don't go well sack the DoF.

We should have a DoF who goes were going to play say a, 433 high pressing style. He'd then go and get a manager that players that way and buy players that suit that style.

Then if the manager leaves, whether that be hes fired or leaves for another club the DoF will have a list of manager that play the same style and formation and will get one of them in and there would be a seemless transition, Basically Brighton.

That's kind of what I was trying to say if the DoF has full autonomy then it is him that drives transfers etc.

Do you honestly think this is thelwell doing it? Hes not sat there barring the doors at FF with all of these world class players trying to get in to sign contracts.

Want to blame someone blame the board that has put us in this position. Not the guy that's been here 2 minutes.

Its just falling into kenwright and co's trap, so they can avoid the blame.

He hasn’t been there for 2 minutes, this is his second window. He had since the summer to find a fwd and we’re not even close to signing one.
