Yeah I agree. Just saying the figure is not only comparatively low, it's damning given the opportunities he's had to make it higher.
If Gray doesn't have the vision or passing range he shouldnt be playing in the 10 role. He'll get found out very quickly by PL DMs and CB and bullied to the bench, very diff coming in from wide.
And for me Iwobi shouldn't be seen as a creator/10.
We're in effing limbo as it stands.
Gray in fairness isn't playing in the 10 role?

He's just more suited to a system that affords him space on the counter. At the moment that's the 352 we've been playing but again it depends on the opposiiton.

We went from having 5 number 10s, to zero.

We actually miss having a player like Siggy (despite his perceived lack of effort and pointing etc).

Do love how we're linked with ex championship players.

Tbf it looks like thats exactly what we are going to have to do ( take a punt ) as we are day 11 into a transfer window, 3 days away from arguably our biggest game of thr season and all we've seen so far is "Everton considering" which tells me they've done no groundwork at all since the summer to rectify the glaring issues we have.

So I can see it being very much like last season where we took a punnt on VD Beek and Ali and hope a miracle happens (again)

The problem with Siggurdson was that he had no pace or athleticism. Which would have been fine except we surrounded him with the likes of Rooney, Klaasen, Gomes, Allan, James, Davies, Schnederlin, Bernard etc.

Probably assembled the slowest, least mobile/athletic midfield in history at a point when the rest of the teams in the league were getting faster.

Siggurdson would have been fine in a team with pace and runners around him. Had quality in and around the box, was a cool and composed finisher, good set piece delivery - miles better than our options now.

Or prepping for the champo

He’d be way off the pace.

It would take him the rest of the season to get fit.
Probably. But, for example, if it meant we could get a decent wide forward and CF in (not rubbish like Elanga), then it might be worth it on a loan.

We still need a creative CM. But obviously have very little money.

Appreciate the state we’re in and when you mix that with a healthy dose of frustration and relegation fear we’re left with the what ifs and must dos….. what I don’t get it the revisionism around Gylfy. He was never good enough to carry or lead the team and I don’t agree that blaming everyone around him nullified him I think it just highlighted his shortcomings.

He’ll probably go down as one of the biggest wastes of money in the clubs history and the way he finished it all off just added to the disaster of his signing.

We’re just in a very difficult market, it’s not like Lampard or Thelwell don’t want to make signings or don’t have targets. They obviously do.

The reality of the situation is the board have given them an impossible task and made it very difficult if not nigh on impossible to compete in this market.

We’ll be registering interest, trying to do deals with little upfront and staged payments, teams are holding out to see if they can get better i.e. from teams who will put actual money down. We’re not competitive - we can be outbid by the likes of Forest, Southampton etc.

We’ll be left taking what we can get, players no one else wants, players way down the list of who management actually wanted…and then when they inevitably fail, folk will blame the manager or Thelwell. Crazy

I don’t particularly disagree but he’d walk into this team and be by far the most dangerous player in and around the box - that’s how bad this current lot are.
